As a group we have come up with some initial ideas, we have created these from the research we have done and as a group I feel we’ve worked really well together to adapt these ideas.
Our main initial idea is to have an amplification video. We want to include a performance of the band, being their first video, we want to introduce and establish the band. However as well as the performance we want to include a narrative. Due to the lyrics to the song we are going to keep the narrative to do with a break up of a relationship, either during or after. Currently, our initial ideas for the narrative we are thinking about using a hotel as the location, as well as possible being able to use the hotel for the performance, creating an abstract look for the band.
After talking to Tim we realised we had an issue. As they work during the week, we only had the weekends to film, and we then realised the whole band weren’t free for filming for a weekend before the deadline we had been set for filming. Lucy (Technical person) took it upon herself to talk to Mr Sheppard and discuss whether we would be able to have an extension, which has been agreed and I am currently waiting for confirmation from Tim for these dates.
Over a period of around 2 weeks, as a group, we decided to continue with research. We had a 1 hour meeting in which we discussed
(minutes);
-where we were at with our individual research and our blogging
  - All of the group were happy with the amount of research they had achieved and the main thing we all had to do was to upload our research on to the blog.
- I kept the group up to date with where the conversation was with Tim.
- We decided on what other research we could begin, Helen is going to look at logos of other bands, so she can begin to adapt The Vee’s current logo and she is also going to look at the styling of other bands. Lucy is going to look how bands and songs of the same genre edit their videos, Sarah is going to research different music videos for initial ideas, and I will do the same.
I haven’t heard confirmation from Tim about the filming dates as of yet, so I am going to email him as soon as possible

22nd November –

As producer I said I would keep the main conversation with Tim from the Vee’s – the main guitarist. Over the weekend I have been e-mailing him, discussing ideas and dates.

18th November -

Today I began my research begun, I looked into what ‘The Vee’s’ had done previously and I then began to do some research on music videos made by bands of the same genre as these. I will post the results of my research on another post.

17th November –

When I returned back to school after my work experience placement I met with the group, I got the answers and we discussed who would take what roles in the group. We resulted with that I would be producer. Sarah was going to be director, Helen was going to be the designer and Lucy was going to take the role as the technical person. The whole group seemed very happy with the roles although I am quite nervous with the role I have taken, as it is a big project and I have never worked with a band before. After speaking in the lesson, I set work for each person to research different bands that we saw ‘The Vee’s’ were inspired by. We all researched bands such as Snow Patrol, Wheezer and Kings of Leon, Helen was also to look at the style of the Kings of Leon.

15th November –

On this date the rest of the group met a member of the band, I wasn’t in school that day. Before this however I let the group now I wasn’t going to be able to be in, and I passed on my questions that I had written for the band. After the group had met with the band member, Tim, when I was back in school all of the group gave me thorough notes on the answers they received from Tim. We found from talking to the band that the group mainly wanted a fun video, containing a narrative however after we listened to the song they wanted us to produce a video for, we were finding it hard to even get initial ideas for a fun video with the song.

As soon as we found out our groups, my group began talking to each other and deciding on what roles we would want to undertake, however we have not confirmed these just yet. We exchanged contact details so when  the time came to meet the bands and begin the production, we would already have these details.

We all individually looked at the band's website. Trying to vaguely get to know the band from the internet, as the meeting was postponed. A clear vibe is shown from the band and what they want to do, particularly shown through their facebook page. When we have met them, we have all individually created our own lists of questions for them, and as a group are going to meet before to combine our questions. So far, as a group I feel we have been organised and are working well together.

My personal questions for the band are;
1. Who is your target audience?
2. in your video, do you want to focus on one member, or your band as a group?
3. Do you want the video to have a narrative? What type of video do you want?
4. Do you have any initial ideas, the video, or the marketing side (Album covers etc)
5. Genre?
6. Is there anything you already have as a band (logo etc) that you would like us to adapt/change completely?
